The Angels are the lady’s arm of the Knights of Columbus Council 9182. We are a charitable organization of Catholic women founded on unity, charity, and friendship. Members encourage each others’ total development and foster growth of every aspect of life – spiritual, social and charitable – adding to a more fulfilling life.
The Knights Angels have the following objectives and purposes:
- 1. To enhance spiritual growth and sociability among members.
- 2. To engage in charitable and civic endeavors.
- 3. To assist in promoting the spiritual and social welfare of the Knights of Columbus Council #9182.
- 4. To promote communication and assistance among members.
- 5. Must believe in the Catholic Faith.
- 6. Must believe in the Knights of Columbus and what they stand for.
- 7. Must believe in the four Degrees: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, Patriotism.
ARTICLE 1 – NAME: This organization shall be known as the “Knights Angels”.
ARTICLE 2 – MEMBERSHIP: Any spouse, widow, daughter, or woman relative of a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9182 in good standing and is at least 18 years of age.
ADDENDUM passed 7/31/11: Catholic women at least 18 years of age who share the same beliefs as the Knights of Columbus are welcome to join. Contact any officer.
ARTICLE 3 – RULES OF ORDER: All business will be conducted in the spirit of the Catholic Faith. Major decisions (e.g.: monetary expenditures of up to $50.00) will be made by 2 officers and 1 member.
ARTICLE 4 – ELECTIONS Nominations will be made in March, election will take place in April, with the effective date of assumption of duties of July 1, every two years, to correspond with the elections of the Knights of Columbus Council 9182.
DUTIES OF OFFICERS:
PRESIDENT: Conducts meetings, keeps the membership informed of changes and activities, is the liaison between the Council 9182 Knights of Columbus and the Knights Angels. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
VICE PRESIDENT: Conducts business in the absence of the President. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
TREASURER: Is responsible for all monetary transactions between Knights of Columbus Council 9182 and the Knights Angels keeping accurate records. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
SECRETARY: Records meeting minutes and attendance. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
SUNSHINE LADY: Writes out and sends birthday, get well and sympathy cards when necessary. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
